"Torquay put on a huge welcome and Sarah Marie (Big Brother) hooked up with us for the rest of the day".

We were taken surfing by two absolute LEGENDS - Mark from Ripcurl and one of the best local surf instructors, Gally. Just what the doctor ordered. As LeyLey pointed out afterwards, it's impossible to imagine that your problems retain any significance when you've got a wall of water bearing down on you. And it's the fear that makes the whole experience so beautiful. When you float towards the shore atop a wave you can't feel anything but exultant or triumphant. I'm not the kind of guy that does the whole macho thing and punches the air with his fists or anything but after catching my first wave I did just that. I turned into Leighton Hewitt or something. I felt I'd reckoned with nature. On a 1 metre wave with a longboard that could be ridden by a complete goose. I felt cool though, and that doesn't happen often so I lapped it up. "

"Learning to surf as an adult was very challenging, but Gally gave me the confidence to get out of the foam and paddle out the back and catch unbroken waves. Thanks to Gally's encouragement and assistance I now enjoy surfing up and down the coast from Bells to Crescent Heads, Phillip Island to Wategos and beyond with confidence. Despite relocating to Sydney, every time I'm in Victoria I make sure that I catch up with Gally for a session out on the waves because his extensive surfing experience, positive attitude and excellent coaching skills continually help me to improve. I highly recommend Gally to anyone who is serious about improving their surfing style but who wants to have fun at the same time."
